Our Joyce’s Gold Heritage meat chickens are a breed developed in Australia by the Joyce family using traditional Heritage breeds. They are highly suited to out door conditions, require a much longer growing period 14-18 weeks and produce a full flavoured dark meat carcass. These birds are undoubtedly a premium bird and will soon become our flagship meat bird.
Like our standard Table Birds our Heritage birds are raised organically on pasture in mobile sheds that are open 24hrs to allow our birds to forage & graze at will. These birds are packed full of flavour and goodies from having spent up to 18 weeks on pasture. They are best slow cooked or steamed, make great curries, soups and broths.
