100% grass fed and grass finished lambs from Rangari, NSW
In early 2023 we made the call to no longer raise our own 100% grass fed lambs at our farm in Dungog. The decision was made to focus our attention on raising 100% grass fed beef cattle, meat and layer chickens and leave raising our lamb to the experts—Greg and Carol Ward.
Located in the Rangari area, approximately 100Kms north west of Tamworth, the property is known in the area for its extensive tree lines that crisscross the
property which Greg's mother began planting around 25 years ago.
Greg and Carol are practicing regenerative agriculture farmers who raise Dorper sheep as well as Angus and F1 Wagyu cattle (for themselves). The sheep and beef cattle rotationally graze pasture blocks together, the sheep separated only during the lambing season.
The farm has seen improvement to pasture (feed) quality since adopting rotational grazing and reducing the block sizes as well as biodiversity and soil carbon levels. Greg and Carol also practice low stress stock handling where animals tend to move themselves once gates are opened for them.
